Margaret is 82 and lives alone.

Her children reside out of state, and her vision isn’t what it used to be. A few months ago, she stopped driving. “I felt cut off,” she says. “I didn’t know how I’d get to the store or see anyone anymore.”

Then she found LIV-UP.

Now, a friendly LIV-UP volunteer takes her to appointments, a LIV-UP tech volunteer helps her with her phone, and a weekly LIV-UP visitor shares tea and conversation.

“It’s changed everything,” Margaret says. “I feel like I belong again.”

Every week, LIV-UP volunteers bring connection, comfort, and practical help to older adults in our community — from friendly visits and rides to tech help and light household assistance. But, behind every act of kindness are real costs — background checks, office supplies, liability insurance, and the many other "small things" that are necessary expenses to keep our work going.
